Atypical & Awesome “Night Butterfly”
Last night, I saw a multitude of music friends in a variety of settings full of hugs, music, and good conversation. Alice Nelson and her mom, Roy and Kim Hoobler, dear sweet Rocky K, Shelia Quattlebaum, Darrell Qualls, Nancy Kopko, and a few others sprinkled in. Roy did a fantastic job putting together a Neil Diamond tribute show based on the album, “Beautiful Noise”- it was very well done. They are doing it again tonight at 6 pm at Hoobler Music in Enterprise so check it out if you are in town.
My friend Shelia and I grabbed pizza at Cafe Roma afterwards for some much needed catching up. Darell Qualls was finishing his set and joined us for a music chat afterwards. Darrell has a lot of good things going locally so check him out- especially, his songwriters showcase on Monday nights at Bugsby’s.
Speaking of Bugsby’s, Phillip met me there and we caught a few songs by Oddly Enough. Led by Nancy Kopko on vocals they are fantastic. Drummer Charles Rivers lends his vocals to “Black Magic Woman” and it is superb. The band is great snd there song choices- while classic- are not the same covers you might hear elsewhere. Check them out on social media and catch a show when you can.
I’m super excited about the Wiregrass Museum’s Yard Party for art tonight. My boho dress arrived so the planets have aligned. Look forward to seeing friends- new and old. But first, there will be copious amounts of coffee, kitchen therapy, and perhaps some writing. This butterfly stays busy.
